Lizard Island

Lizard Island, Australia is located 240km north of Cairns, Lizard Island is Australia's most northerly resort island on the Great Barrier Reef, set amidst some of the most spectacular coral reefs to be found anywhere in the world.

Lizard is an exclusive island resort and National Park boasting no less than 24 sandy beaches, the sand being fine and white which makes the shallow reef waters around the island appear a stunning turquoise colour and very, very inviting!

The clear waters provide excellent snorkelling and diving opportunities, and a full time experienced dive team is available for half or full day excursions aboard the island's own dive boat, the MV Serranidae.

Not far from Lizard Island is the world renowned diving spot of Cod Hole, so named because of the huge Potato Cod, or Grouper, that live there. These friendly fish grow to lengths well in excess of a meter and will approach divers without any threat.
